Frame Vulcanizing Press vs. Four-Column Vulcanizing Press: Advantages Comparison
I. Frame Vulcanizing Press Core Advantages
Advantages:
  • Extremely high rigidity, minimal table deformation. The integral welded steel plate frame ensures even stress distribution, preventing heating plate warping during high-pressure mold closing. The mold parting surface fits tightly, resulting in uniform flash and high dimensional accuracy in the finished product. Suitable for high-precision seals, thick rubber sheets, and large liners.
  • Better stability under long-term high-pressure operation. Preferred for 500T, 800T, and 1000T models. Resistant to deformation under continuous 24-hour full-load production. More balanced stress distribution in the cylinders and guide structure, resulting in more stable hydraulic system pressure holding and a low failure rate due to pressure drop.
  • Spacious left and right sides, suitable for automatic push-pull molds and robotic arms. The absence of four columns obstructing the sides of the worktable facilitates the installation of automatic mold feeding and unloading mechanisms and material handling robots, making it easy to build automated production lines.
  • Minimal heat deformation and lower interlayer temperature difference. The frame provides uniform heat dissipation, and the large-area heat-conducting oil heating of the sheet metal reduces the likelihood of one-sided temperature differences, resulting in higher yield rates for silicone and products with high appearance requirements.
  • Clean appearance and good protection. The enclosed frame structure can be fitted with a full-coverage protective cover, reducing hydraulic oil and glue residue splashes, resulting in a cleaner workshop and a higher level of safety protection.
Disadvantages:

Higher cost, greater weight, slightly more difficult transportation and hoisting; less cost-effective for small-tonnage, small-part production compared to four-column machines.

II. Four-Column Vulcanizing Press Core Advantages:
Advantages:
  • Low price and high cost-effectiveness. 15%~30% cheaper than frame machines of the same tonnage, making it the first choice for small and medium-sized factories and small-part sealing rings and gaskets in batch production.
  • Larger mold opening and closing stroke, adaptable to molds with large height differences. Four independent guide columns allow for greater height adjustment of the upper and lower plates, compatible with taller molds, multiple stacked molds, and thick molds, offering excellent versatility.
  • Simple structure, easy maintenance. The four-column split structure allows for individual disassembly and assembly of the heating plate, oil cylinder, and guide column; replacement of guide columns, oil seals, and heating tubes does not require disassembling the entire machine frame, allowing for maintenance by ordinary operators.
  • Smaller footprint, lightweight and easy to move. The machine is lightweight with a compact base, making it suitable for installation in factories with average ceiling height and floor load-bearing capacity, facilitating short-distance transportation and factory relocation.
  • Mature multi-layer models, flexible production capacity. The mainstream 2-layer, 3-layer, and 4-layer vulcanizing machines adopt a four-column structure, enabling simultaneous production of multiple molds in the same space, suitable for high-volume production of thin gaskets and small parts.
Disadvantages:

Slight warping of the upper and lower plates under high pressure and long-term use; side columns obstruct the worktable, limiting space for installing a fully automated robotic arm.

III. Selection Quick Reference (Foreign Trade FAQs)

Summary: For high precision, large tonnage, automated production lines, and long-term high-pressure production → Choose the frame type. For limited budgets, multi-mold, multi-layer mass production, variable mold height, and small to medium-sized miscellaneous parts → Choose the four-column type.
